What I don’t understand about Twitter is that people use it to publicise things that would normally be private, to show off to others. At some point, a conscious decision is made to tweet instead of to send a text, maybe when organising something with friends, so that they can show the world that they do actually have friends and a social life despite seeming to return to twitter at least every hour. It seems sad that they constantly feel the need to prove themselves when nobody actually cares
